Boys’ Junior School News
We commenced the week with our Years 3 to 6 Assembly, during which we listened to Justice Crew singing “Que Sera”, and especially the lines, “At the end of the day, Some you win, some you don’t, So I’m glad that I’m here, With some friends that I know…Singing la la la la, Que sera”
We discussed the relevance to our BOUNCE BACK theme, and the need especially to look after and support one another.
It set the scene for the aMAYzing week that was to follow.
Mother’s Day Stall
We extend our sincerest thanks to all of our parent helpers who were able to assist with our annual Mothers’ Day Stall on Tuesday. As always, it was a wonderful event for our children. Special thanks to Danielle Kelberg for the time and effort she spent organising and running the stall.
House Cross Country
On Wednesday, our House Cross Country was a most enjoyable and spirited event, run suprisingly in bright sunshine.
Our Preps, 1s and 2s were motivated by the ‘Ash Cow’ (aka 2020 Tintern Grammar School Captain and Dux Ashleigh Dowling) who gave our youngest runners something to chase, and run with.) There were some very strong individual performances but the most pleasing aspect of the event was that for those whom long distance running is challenging, their effort still represented best effort, and there was such a strong sense of support for one another.
Congratulations to the following students who came top three in their respective year levels;
9/10 Year old; Kobe Heinrich, Murray Tossel, Rowan De La Pierre
11 year old; Lewis Chen, Lenny Kilworth, Lucas Winduss
12/13 year old; Harley Cantor, Owen Huang, Ish Kohli
Congratulations to Somner Stewart House for winning the 2021 Boys’ Junior School Cross Country.
The top ten runners from each year level will represent Tintern at the Ringwood District Cross Country to be held on Tuesday 25 May at 12.30pm.
