Swimming Success

On Monday 28 February some of our Girls’ Junior School swimmers competed in the Division Swimming Competition at Aquanation.

Some incredible results were achieved which included:

• Lexin, Weylen, Jess D and Adnana placing 1st in the open age 4 x 50m Medley Relay.

• Lexin, Weylen, Jess D and Riley P placing 2nd in the 4 x 50m freestyle relay.

• Lexin placing 1st in the individual 50m freestyle and backstroke

• Weylen placing 2nd in the individual 50m breaststroke and 3rd in the 50m butterfly.

As a result, in the events where a first or second place was achieved, these students will now move on to the Eastern Metropolitan Regional competition to take place on 25 March.

We congratulate these students and wish them all the best at the next competition, with fingers crossed to make it through to the State Championships!

Beach Volleyball

This week our Volleyball Teams competed in the Beach Volleyball Victorian Schools Cup.

An amazing two days in South Melbourne on the sand, learning so much and having a lot of fun. See their results below:

Year 8 Boys – fours. With 15 km winds, we were challenged, but never gave up. Unfortunately, the final points didn’t fall our way. Being within reach of winning every match.

Year 9 Girls – fours. Dominated. Finishing undefeated in their pool, then unfortunately loosing the first final in cross overs.

Year 9 Boys – fours. Had a strong day, winning 2 and loosing 2. Adapting to new beach rules on the fly, and improving with every shot.

Year 9 Boys – doubles. Heath and Tom, were put to the test of playing in the doubles competition. They stepped up to the occasion, winning 2 and loosing 2 games. Meaning they just fell short of finals by a handful of points.

Year 10 Girls – fours. An amazing effort by this group. Supporting each other and showing excellent leadership. They finished second in their pool, sending them through to the final. Where they were up against a very strong team.
