Glen Eira Gallery – IB Visual Arts Opening Night

On the evening of Friday 14 February, 2020, Tintern Grammar IB Visual Art student’s artworks were exhibited as key pieces at the opening of the International Baccalaureate Visual Arts Exhibition at Glen Eira City Council Gallery in Caulfield. Each year, a committee of IB art examiners choose artworks that represent the best of the candidate’s folios through Victoria and Tasmania. To have Visual Art students from Tintern Grammar represented was a credit to the students and their tireless work and dedicated creative practice. Joining in the evenings festivities were 2019 alumni and artists Nicolani Susanto and Vishnu Pillay, who works, along with works from Jessica Hyunh, Casey Anderson and Augustus Lever were prominently on display as examples of creative excellence. The exhibition was also attended by Nicolani, Vishnu and Augustus’ family, Principal Brad Fry and Head of Visual Art & Design Rachel Waud, who is also a committee member and IB Visual Arts teacher. The guest speaker at the event was renowned Melbourne artist Pamela Irving, whose colourful mosaic works feature on the wall outside the Junior School Art Room. The exhibition is open each day, including weekends until Sunday 1 March.
