Tintern Grammar Interschool Horse Trials

On Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 May Tintern Grammar held the annual Tintern Grammar Interschool Horse Trials event at Wandin Park. With over 200 riders competing from more than 60 schools there was strong competition in the dressage, show jumping and cross-country events. Saturday’s events consisted of the dressage and show jumping whilst Sunday’s events were show jumping and the cross country. The event ran very smoothly and included a moving dawn service on Sunday morning to commemorate ANZAC Day where schools laid wreaths at the flagpole. Tintern Grammar had some excellent results throughout the weekend in different classes.

Volleyball School Cup

Last week our Volleyball teams competed in the State Volleyball School Cup at the State Volleyball Centre. 🏐 🏆

It was a fantastic 3-day event and the contest was very close, as per the below results:
The Years 7 and 8 Girls both finished 5th in their division after winning some tough games and playing well against a number of strong teams.

The Year 7 boys went through to the semi-finals, winning the best played game of the day, which sent them through to the final. They won the second set of the final, but in the end fell just short during a very tough competition, collecting Silver, an amazing effort overall.

The Year 8 Boys had the closest division, with only 3 points separating 3rd to 7th place.

Our Year 9 girls won 2 out of 4 matches, finishing 5th out of 12.

our Year 9 boys improved drastically throughout the day and managed to win their last game.

Our Year 11 girls won the first 3 games and tied in their 4th game, sending them through to the bronze medal match, unfortunately they lost this final game in a very close contest.

Well done to all Tintern Volleyball teams involved, for many students it was their first Volleyball contest and it was great to see them try their best with great enthusiasm!

Basketball

On Tuesday 27 April,  the Senior Boys Basketball Team participated in a 3X3 basketball tournament.

This is a new style of game, that is fast paced and very physical.

It was a tough competition, but the students played very well and won the majority of their games.
