From Wednesday 6 November to Friday 8 November the Year 5 girls and boys travelled to Phillip Island for our Surf Camp. On the Wednesday every student had a go at Boogie Boarding. Whilst cold, they all loved it and many were so proud of their efforts on the waves. We then walked into town and had a Games Night.
We were due to return on the Thursday for surfing lessons, but unfortunately the weather conditions made surfing dangerous and we hope to return in a couple of weeks for our surfing lesson in better weather. The girls and boys displayed terrific resilience and they swam in the bay, went to the Nobbies and saw penguins, and completed a variety of activities including Ten Pin Bowling. They were happy and flexible with the change of plans.
On Friday we went to A Maze N Things and had a great time with minigolf, the maze and puzzle rooms. The whole camp was a terrific experience highlighting some of the important Compass values of resilience, independence and responsibility. We had a terrific time together.
