Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
The Community Relations team and all the Community Groups would like to take this opportunity to wish all Tintern Grammar families a happy and safe Christmas.
2021 was another unexpected year. We were pleased to host some incredible Community events early in the year, but the second half of 2021 saw further cancellations due to another long metro Melbourne lockdown.
Thank you to our Friends of Young Farmers, Friends of Equestrian and Friends of Music, who all approached the uncertainty with grace and creativity. A special thank you also to the Tintern Parents Group, who once again gifted our entire Year 12 Class a $25 Uber Eats gift voucher, to bring a spark of joy to the cohort.
We were grateful for the events and fundraisers that were able to go ahead; the FOE Horse Trials, Mother’s Day Stall, TPG Movie Night and Trivia Night, Second Hand Book sale, Equestrian Clinics and the mango drive. We look forward to many wonderful Community events in 2022!
Seeking Parent Representatives for 2022!
Are you interested in being a Class representative for 2022? Parent Representative are a liaison between parents/guardians and the school. Informing parents about activities planned either by Tintern, our community groups or within the class or year level, such as fundraisers or events.
Parent Reps also organise class or year level functions to provide parents with the opportunity of meeting and socialising in a relaxed atmosphere. It would be a great opportunity for class groups to connect, while supporting our local community cafes and restaurants still recovering from the lockdowns.
We greatly appreciate the time and commitment given by our Parent Reps. This role is suitable for Parents or Guardians who are in the workforce or who undertake home responsibilities.
Thank you to all those who have already signed on to assist in 2022:

Volunteer Thank You Night 2021
On Wednesday 1 December we came together at the Sage Hotel to thank the many incredible volunteers who have dedicated their time to Tintern in 2021. We also wished a sad farewell to many long term volunteers, thanking them for their many years of service to the school.
Whether assisting with events and fundraisers, as a Community Group member, or our Alumni who have generously supported both our current and past students – we say thank you!
Your support enriches the experience for our students, their families and our wider community – forming the backbone of many of our largest events. Thank you for the creativity, skills, time and service you have given to the school.
Secondhand Books
Thank you to everyone who submitted second-hand books through the TPG and I Love Books partnership.
You can still submit books directly to I Love Books. Please contact them on 9898 1677 or by email to enquiry@ilovebooks.com.au.
Friends of Equestrian – We need you!
The Tintern Friends of Equestrian Committee is a parent led group of equine enthusiasts who gather to support the children of Tintern in their equestrian pursuits. After 22 years of organising events and clinics for our equestrian community, FOE is in desperate need of new volunteers to be able to continue in to 2022.
FOE organise training days in all disciplines and run the prestigious Tintern Horse Trials. As we move in to a new year, the FOE Committee can explore the options for Equestrian events moving forward.
Please if you have any interest joining us, please get in touch with either Sherie on 0484750500 or Nelaana to discuss how you can help.
Presentation Ball Committee
Are you interested in being involved in the Presentation Ball Committee? An opportunity has opened up to join the Committee and take this traditional pastime into a new era.
Offered each year to our Year 11 students, it is a wonderful opportunity for them to receive modern dance instruction whilst having fun and experiencing a formal presentation to family and friends.
If you are interested in being a part of this Committee, please contact Di Lacey in Community Relations on 9845 7777 or communityrelations@tintern.vic.edu.au.
