VALE Class of 2023
Vale, meaning goodbye in Latin, is what we do at our Valedictory Service each year and we did for our Class of 2023 last Friday. As this note from Aleayah in Year 2 aptly asks, ‘You are finished school, are you sad or happy?’
The Valedictory Service is an occasion of great joy and great sadness, as in order to move onto the next part of their life journey, students need to say goodbye to school life. For some of our students, they were very ready to leave and for others, the move seems challenging. One student commented, ‘But this is all I have ever known’.
We cannot hold on to the Class of 2023, but we can be sure we have done everything we can to equip them for the adventure that awaits them.
Each student was given a candle with a School Compass as the lid, symbolic of the light of Jesus they are taking into the world and the importance of the Compass in making decisions and choices on the path ahead.
Vale Class of 2023, you are each amazing and we look forward to hearing of your adventures beyond Tintern.
Grace and Peace
