Last Friday the week concluded with some exceptional musical performances during our annual Kelson Music assembly. Congratulations to Year 12 student Steven Zhang who was the recipient of the Kelson Scholar Award for Outstanding Senior Performer. I would like to take this opportunity to remind families that Assemblies and Utilities do play an important role in the life of the school. They are an opportunity to recognise student achievements, deliver important information and for students to reflect on other community and social justice issues. It is an expectation that all Year 12 students stay for these Assemblies. This means that no student should be leaving school before 2:15pm.
As semester one comes to an end, it is an opportunity for Year 12 students to reflect on their year so far. For some, it has been a steep learning curve but overall it has been very reassuring to see so many students developing more effective study habits and coping mechanisms to manage their workloads. During the term break students are encouraged to start a revision program and implement a study timetable in preparation for the practice examinations that will take place in the Term 3 holidays. Practice examinations will take place from the 1 – 5 October. These exams are compulsory and are designed to reflect the examination conditions as much as possible. The timetable for these examinations will be released midway through Term 3.
I wish all students an enjoyable restful semester break. Aside from study, remember to prioritise sleep, exercise and good nutrition so that you can return to school fit, healthy and ready to face your last full term of classes!
