News from Year 12

It was wonderful to see so many of our Year 12 families make the commitment to support one of our most important annual family events – our very special Cathedral Service at St Paul’s Cathedral, on Sunday 7 May; particularly as this year, when we are celebrating 140 years of outstanding education through Tintern. Many people have remarked that the music was especially uplifting this year. My thanks go to all the Year 12 students, in particular our School Leaders, who contributed their commitment and talents to this important community event.

Academically, Year 12 students are now in the throes of preparing for the GAT (the General Achievement Test) which all Year 12 students (IB and VCE) and all Year 11 students who do a VCE Unit 3/4 subject must sit on Wednesday 14 June, from 9.15am to 1.30pm. Please make a note of this date and avoid all appointments on this day, as the GAT is a compulsory assessment taken by these nominated students. To give our students the best preparation we have hired a GAT examiner who will give brief feedback on the practice Writing papers that they will have the opportunity to complete in upcoming Utility periods.
