News from Year 11

The Year 11 Camp has come and gone and the students reported that they had a fantastic time.  Most wished it could have been longer, which is always a good sign. One of our guest speakers teaches and practices mindfulness and meditation. This presented a good overview to the practice, and we have begun to implement during roll call in the mornings. While not compulsory, some students have enjoyed the time before the day begins, listening to short meditations and focusing on “being in the moment”.

In other news, the Year 11s are about to start their Initiative project, where they develop, organise, and run a series of activities over Term 2 with students from the Junior School. Scavenger hunts, outdoor games, and group activities provide an opportunity for all students to mix. This happens over lunchtime and has always been a highlight for both the younger students and the Year 11s.
