News from Year 10

Student Wellbeing Action Team (SWAT)

William Gillis, Charlie Johnson, Audrey Middleton and Jeremy Yuen-Love enjoyed their time at the Student Wellbeing Action Team (SWAT) camp from Monday 7 to Wednesday 9 May and they have their first meeting with their Maroondah Council mentor this week at school to confirm details about their implementation project.

Year 10 Study Day and Examination Timetable Semester 1

The Year 10 and 11 study day is Friday 1 June and while students have been encouraged to study at home, provisions have been made at school for students to study in the library. Any student attending school is not required to wear school uniform but they must sign in and out.

Students have received a paper and an emailed copy of the Semester 1 Examination Timetable for their reference. A copy has also been saved in the Examination folder on the Year 10 Portal page or follow this link:

Examinations commence on Monday 4 June until Thursday 7 June with Friday 8 June being reserved for make-up examinations as the Year 11 examination period extends for the entire week. Full winter uniform must be worn during the examination period. Families are requested to contact the school prior to 8.30am if any student is ill and an alternate session will be organised in consultation with the student.

Examination paper discussions occur from Tuesday 12 May and during this week, final preparations will be occurring for the Work Experience week from Monday 18 to Friday 22 June.

Pastoral Themes for this Week

Students have been cleaning out their lockers and organising their folders to assist with preparation for the upcoming examinations. There have been some silent study sessions and I will be discussing procedures for the examination week in a level assembly on Monday 28 May. It has also been timely for students to review the semester with their Mentor and to set specific learning goals for next term.

Luke Aneja Performing in “Wonder in Aliceland”

Luke is the “Queen of Hearts” in the production of “Wonder in Aliceland”, which is a recreation of Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland at the Eltham Performing Arts Centre at 1603 Main Road, Research from Friday 6 to Sunday 22 July. There are other Tintern Grammar students in this production and I am sure that they would appreciate support from our community in attending one of the performances. Click here to book.
