News From Year 10

Recent Sporting Success in Year 10

Congratulations to Corey Dickson for his recent success in the Victorian Junior Athletics Competition. Corey competed in the 5000 metre Walk and won the gold medal in a time of 24 minutes and 23 seconds which was 3 seconds off his personal best. He also achieved a personal best in the 3000 metre run.

Congratulations to Paul Haasbroek who competed in the Australian Championships Decathlon competition on the weekend. Decathlon consists of 10 events which requires a massive personal effort to complete the following over the two-day competition.

Day 1: 100 and 400-metre run, Long Jump, Shot Put and High Jump

Day 2: Hurdles, Discus, Pole Vault, Javelin and 1500 metre Run

We are proud of both boys and impressed with their level of sportsmanship and ability to balance all the demands on their time.

The Tintern Careers Department has introduced our website hosted in conjunction with Career Tools to Year 10 students. Families are also encouraged to register for the twice per term newsletter and to browse the resources for parents. Students have their own secure area and they will complete a range of activities starting with an investigation of their values and interests. Further information can be found at:
