At our last Middle School Boys’ Assembly in Term 1 James Manson of Year 7 demonstrated not just a wonderful ability to play his bassoon, but to also demonstrate many values of our Compass such as confidence and commitment in order to stand up in front of all Middle School boys and staff and play. What made his performance even more impressive was the fact that as he set up to play his intended piece just prior to the boys arriving, he discovered that he did not have the correct accompanying music for the pianist Mr Kidd. To his credit he demonstrated great resilience and very quickly changed his piece to another of which he did have the correct music for. This piece was called Battle Hymn of the Republic and was played beautifully.
