Current IB Music students support the 2017 Award Recipients
Eight of our 2017 IB graduates were honoured at the IB Awards Ceremony last Wednesday evening at Deakin Edge, Federation Square in a tasteful formal celebration of their achievements. It was pleasing to see two of our current IB Year 12 musicians performing a number of musical interludes on stage with the Combined IB Orchestra throughout the evening. Holly Fryer (on Flute and Viola) and Steven Zhang (on Percussion) performed three works with students from Kardinia International College and Lauriston Girls School.
Musical treat this Wednesday 7 March
If you would like to hear 15 of our most talented musicians performing in a feast of beautiful music, come along to the CM Wood Centre this Wednesday 7 March 7.00pm to enjoy our ‘Preliminary Concerto Concert’. Fifteen students will perform one movement from a concerto with piano accompaniment. An external adjudicator then selects the best four, in their opinion, to continue on to perform at a showcase event in June, at which the four works are performed with orchestral accompaniment. This is always a wonderful musical event, featuring some outstanding musical moments.
