MAV Maths Games Day 2017

On Monday 4 September, two groups of four Tintern students departed on the trip of a lifetime, to the MAV Math Games day at Mt Hira College. We began the day with a quick warm-up, before delving straight into some challenging problem-solving. For 45 minutes we worked tirelessly, and our efforts so far had paid off –  the girls’ team was coming third!

We then moved on to individually compete against students from other schools in mind-blowing maths games. Following this, it was time for the most exciting part of the day – the maths relay! We worked hard for ten minutes, one member of each team continuously racing through the hall to collect new problems. Overall, out of 60 teams, the girls’ teams managed to place third!
Many thanks to Ms Stewart and Ms Tillyer for making such an excellent day for everyone.
