Hooptime

On Wednesday August 17 boys and girls from Tintern competed in the Hoop Time Basketball competition at The Rings in Maroondah. The boys were placed in the All Star Competition and competed really well in all four matches.  It was really high quality basketball and it was really encouraging to see the improvement in each match.  We went down by a narrow two point margin to the eventual grand finalists and showed excellent sportsmanship and teamwork throughout the day.  Congratulations to Lorcan, Mark, James, Will, Krishnaa, Zack, Kasim, Max and Dan for representing the school so well.

The girls also were in the All Star Competition and they played extremely well in their pool matches. In the Grand Final we played against Eastwood, who started the game well and were up 6-0 at half time. The girls had plenty of shots but couldn’t get one in. After the half time break all of our shots suddenly went in and we played excellent basketball to win 19-6. Congratulations girls for winning the Grand Final. Special thanks goes to the coach, Rachel Quirk.
