The weekend before Monday 12 August, the Year 6 girls were busy baking in preparation for their Bake Sale fundraiser. They created posters to advertise for the big event, considered gluten-free options and made sure there were a variety of baked goods on sale. The recess rush was busy and the girls managed the stall with confidence, poise and enthusiasm. As we are studying Indigenous Cultures and Communities this term, the girls’ purpose for the fundraiser was to raise money for Worawa Aboriginal College. We managed to raise an impressive $653.60.
Later in the year, the girls will travel to the college to present the money to the school and participate in sporting activities to get to know the school community and the girls. A special mention to Charlotte Davies who designed and created a Reconciliation Cake with its own story and purpose (please see below). Thank you to everyone who supported this event; you all contributed to making it a huge success!
