Friends of Young Farmers (FOYF) – An invitation to new members
We would like to invite new members to join and support the activities of our Tintern Young Farmers and the Tinternwood Farm. Our AGM is Monday 4 April 2022 at 7.30pm and we would love any interested parents/friends to take this opportunity to meet us and consider joining our committee. Our meeting is held both onsite in the CM Wood Common Room, as well as online via Zoom by selecting online here.
Friends of Young Farmers are parents, friends, ex-students and like-minded people who come together to support students interested in the Tinternwood Farm and to promote the farm itself. It is a relaxed and friendly community group formed in 2012 who come together to:
- Support the teaching staff and students in the Young Farmers’ program
- Actively fundraise to support the Young Farmers’ program and the farming requirements of the school.
- Support the farm by coordinating working bees, activities or Farm events.
- Support each other by attending ‘getting to know you’ events.
We very grateful for the ongoing support of the families on our Friends of Young Farmers Committee and look forward to welcoming new members. If you are interested in assisting with events, but unable to attend meetings, or would like further information or to join the committee please contact foyf@tintern.vic.edu.au.

Parent Representatives 2022
Thank you to the many parents and guardians who have volunteered to act as the Parent Representatives for their Class or Year Level in 2022.
We are still seeking representatives for the following year levels:
- Year 8 Boys
- Year 9 Boys
- Year 10
- Year 11
Please note that some of the Class and Year Level representative are still in the process of being finalised, and this list will be updated on the Portal.
Parent Representative are a liaison between parents/guardians and the school. Informing parents about activities planned either by Tintern, our community groups or within the class or year level, such as fundraisers or events. We greatly appreciate the time and commitment given by our Parent Reps.
Parent Reps also organise class or year level functions to provide parents with the opportunity of meeting and socialising in a relaxed atmosphere. It is a great opportunity for class groups to connect, while supporting our local community cafes and restaurants still recovering from the lockdowns.
If you would like to volunteer to be your Year Level’s Parent Representative or would like further information contact us by email communityrelations@tintern.vic.edu.au or by phone 03 9845 7877.
