Upcoming auditions for rhythm section positions in the Tintern Jazz Ensemble program
We have some limited positions open for pianists, guitarists, bass players and drummers from Years 7-12 who are keen to be part of our Jazz Ensemble program at Tintern in 2022. Please email Mrs Clarke at lclarke@tintern.vic.edu.au by Friday 12 November if you are interested in joining a jazz band. Please indicate in your email which instrument you play and how long you have been playing.
In the audition, you will be required to perform a pre-prepared excerpt from the Jazz Ensemble repertoire, a piece of your own choosing, sight-reading and, in some instances, an improvisation. Mrs Clarke will be able to explain this process to you, once you have contacted her.

Concerto Competition in 2022
The Concerto Festival is an event for experienced musicians currently attending Tintern Grammar.
The preliminary event will be held on Wednesday 9 March 2022. Students are required to perform one movement only from a concerto, or for singers, a recitative and aria, with piano accompaniment.
The top three or four performers from the preliminary evening will be selected and invited to perform their concerto movement, or recitative and aria, accompanied by orchestra at the Final Showcase on Wednesday 15 June.
